Every young cricketer dreams of wearing the national jersey. Here is how the journey works in the UAE.
The Development Ladder
The path to the UAE National Team is more structured than ever before. It begins at the academy level, where solid technique and discipline are instilled. From there, players progress through:
- Inter-Academy Tournaments: The first test of competitive pressure.
- Regional Councils: Selection for Dubai, Sharjah, or Abu Dhabi Cricket Councils.
- Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) Age Groups: U16 and U19 National trials.
The Role of Desert Cubs
Our curriculum is aligned with the ECB's high-performance standards. By exposing our cubs to turf wickets, floodlit matches, and international tours (like our UK and Australia trips), we bridge the gap between amateur cricket and the professional demands of the national setup.
