Desert Cubs Cricket Academy
The biggest mistake parents make is buying a bat that is too big, thinking the child will "grow into it."
Size Matters More Than Brand
A heavy or long bat compromises technique. It forces the player to lift the bat with their shoulders rather than their wrists, leading to cross-bat shots and potential back injuries. A simple test: your child should be able to hold the bat out horizontally with one hand for 10 seconds without their arm shaking.
Willow Grades
- Kashmir Willow: Ideal for beginners and soft-ball cricket. Durable and cost-effective.
- English Willow: Essential for hard-ball cricket. It offers a better "ping" and shock absorption, crucial for facing fast bowling.
