There is no feeling quite like walking onto a cricket pitch in England — and your child's opportunity to experience it is closer than you think.
A Rite of Passage
The smell of freshly cut grass, the swing of the red ball in the humid air, the deep-rooted history of the game at every corner. For a young cricketer, a tour of the United Kingdom is more than just a series of matches — it's a rite of passage.
Desert Cubs Cricket Academy is thrilled to announce our 2026 UK Tour — an international exposure trip designed to challenge our elite squads on the world's most iconic stages. Following the extraordinary success of our 2023 tour (where our U13 Warriors were crowned ICCA Global Academy Champions), we return to the Home of Cricket with even greater ambition.

The Challenge of UK Conditions
Playing in the UK is the ultimate test of a young cricketer's adaptability. The "Swing and Seam" conditions of the British Isles require a completely different technical and mental approach compared to the flat, dusty tracks of the Middle East. Our pre-tour preparation focuses heavily on:
-
Swing Ball Management Teaching batsmen how to play late and bowlers how to harness atmospheric conditions. Understanding seam position, pitch the ball up, and exploit overhead conditions.
-
Bowling Accuracy Drills In the UK, discipline is king. We train our bowlers to consistently hit the "top of off" to apply relentless pressure on international opponents. Line and length, controlled aggression.
-
Cultural & Team Bonding Living and traveling as a team builds a sense of camaraderie and discipline that lasts a lifetime. Some of our players' greatest friendships have begun on these international tours.
Why International Exposure Matters
Exposing young players to different cricketing cultures, varied pitch conditions, and international competition is essential for their growth. UAE pitches are very different from UK pitches. Playing at home prepares you for home conditions. Playing abroad prepares you for everything else.
International tours build:
Mental Resilience
Dealing with unfamiliar conditions, adapting under pressure, and bouncing back from setbacks in an unfamiliar country — all of this forges mental toughness that no nets session can replicate.
Global Perspective
Meeting and competing against players from the USA, India, Sri Lanka, and the UK gives our young cricketers a real understanding of the global game and where they stand on the world stage.
Professional Taste
Training at iconic venues, following professional match-day routines, and experiencing the discipline of touring cricket gives players a genuine taste of what elite-level cricket looks and feels like.
Lifelong Memories
Years from now, these players won't remember every innings score or every wicket. But they will remember the morning they first walked into an English ground, and the pride they felt representing Desert Cubs.
Our Track Record Speaks for Itself
Desert Cubs has been running international tours since our early years. We have taken our players to Sri Lanka, Australia, and the United Kingdom, each time returning with stories of incredible performances, life-changing experiences, and the kind of confidence that only comes from competing on foreign soil.
In 2023, our U13 Warriors came home as ICCA Global Academy Champions. Our U11 Cheetahs were named the Best Team of the Tour. Individual players took home Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Fielder, Best Player, and Player of the Tournament awards. This is what Desert Cubs does on the international stage — and 2026 will be no different.
